VANCOUVER - The Crown has approved charges against four more people in the Stanley Cup Riot in Vancouver, bringing to 47 the total number of suspects who've now been charged.

The latest to face charges are two 19-year-old men from Burnaby, Johnny Chou and Matthew Schulz, 19-year-old Rag Kim of Kelowna and 18-year-old Jacob Pateman of North Vancouver.

The charges range from participating in a riot to break and enter, arson and theft.

The Crown is working through potential charges the Vancouver police have recommended against another 53 people, and police say they expect to recommend more charges in the coming months.

Last month, the police released more video and still pictures of riot suspects, asking for the public to identify them, including those who beat up a Good Samaritan who tried to stop some of the violence.

So far, two riot suspects have said they will plead guilty, but their cases have been delayed by the government's application to have their court appearances televised.
