Days after a survey of employees came to light – showing many staff members felt emergency services in the Edmonton area was inadequate, the province has come forward with a plan to help ease pressure.
Health Minister Fred Horne announced Tuesday two more ambulances and 17 staff members will be added to our city's emergency crews.
By 2014, the province is also hoping to add 14 more employees and another five ambulance stations.
In the survey released earlier this month, employees stated service in the Edmonton metro zone was ‘completely inadequate' – and some patients could have waited for more than an hour for an ambulance.
