Hobbema RCMP have charged a woman with the stabbing death of a 34-year-old man.

Phoebe Firingstoney, 30, has been charged with second degree murder in the death of Jamie Lee Soosay.

The incident happened on December 31 around 7:40 p.m.

RCMP said they received a call about a man who had been stabbed in a residence on the Samson Cree Nation.

Officers found Soosay with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where he later died.

An autopsy has been scheduled for January 4.

Police said they believe the incident was part of a domestic dispute.

Firingstoney has been scheduled to appear in court on January 3.
