Slick road conditions are to blame for a fatal collision that happened just before 8:30 p.m. Monday on Township Rd. 520 and Rage Road 222.

RCMP say the 91-year-old male driver lost control of his pickup truck and hit the ditch. Road conditions were icy and snow-packed at the time of the collision. Police say speed was not a factor in this crash.

"The female occupant appeared to have not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The male was transported to the Royal Alexandra by Stars Air Ambulance in serious condition," said Const. Andrew Robinson with the RCMP.

The victim has been identified as 87-year-old Norma Harcus.
