A diesel shortage has forced some Edmonton gas stations to turn customers away. The price of diesel has soared in recent days and is in limited supply.
There is currently a diesel shortage in Western Canada, which is being blamed on a scale back on production at Edmonton's Suncor.
A shortage of hydrogen sulphide from a third party supplier has affected Suncor's ability to produce diesel.
It's now costing truck drivers nearly $1.18 cents a litre to fill up.
Diesel is currently available at the Flying J gas station in Edmonton, but that wasn't the case early Wednesday morning. Pumps had to be blocked off as drivers lined up to fill their tanks.
A shipment eventually arrived at the Flying J, but there is no word on when the next one will arrive. There is the possibility truckers could be turned away again.
A number of other stations CTV News contacted Wednesday say diesel is flowing. Suncor expects the situation to be resolved by November 19th.
