OTTAWA - A funeral will be held today for a gay Ottawa teenager who killed himself after being bullied for months.

Jamie Hubley, the son of an Ottawa city councillor, had been suffering from depression and took his own life last Friday after months of suicidal musings on his blog and social-media websites.

His father, Allan Hubley, says bullying was part of the reason his son killed himself.

He says the family knew of several occasions when his son was treated cruelly because he preferred figure skating to hockey.

The funeral will be held at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church in Ottawa this afternoon.

Donations are being accepted by the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa in the teen's honour
