Edmonton police have roped off an area near 117 Avenue and 86 Street, after they were called to the scene of an assault in progress, and the victim died on scene.

Officers arrived at the house after 3:30 a.m. Saturday and found a 35-year-old male inside.

Police said the male died on scene.

Neighbours told CTV News the home had been condemned about six months ago.

Homicide investigators took over the investigation shortly after wards.

Two men aged 52 and 34-years-old are in custody and are being interviewed by police.

Police said no charges have been laid at this time.

An autopsy will be completed in the coming days to determine the cause of death.
