A teenage male is facing murder charges in connection with the stabbing death of a 17-year-old male in northern Alberta.
On Sunday just before 2 a.m., Desmarais RCMP members were called to stabbing complaint on Alberta road in Desmarais, Alta.
Police say their investigation suggests that two male individuals got into fight behind a residence, and one male was stabbed.
The victim was transported to a local health centre where he was pronounced dead. The victim is identified as 17-yar-old Jesse Noskiye, age 17 of Desmarais.
The accused was treated by medical personnel and was later arrested.
An autopsy completed Monday confirmed that the victim died as a result of a stab wound.
The accused has been charged with second degree murder and has been remanded in custody to appear in court on Thursday. His name will not be released.
