The suspicious death of a 29-year-old man in Cold Lake has been ruled a homicide, police say. Two brothers have now been charged in connection to the man's death.

The two brothers who were being sought on Canada Wide warrants in connection to the homicide were arrested in Edmonton Tuesday afternoon.

Wayne Ernest Matchatis, 54, has been charged with second-degree murder and his brother, Kenneth Leonard Matchatis, 59, is charged with being an accessory.

The two men are not related to the victim, Paul Simon Scanie.

On Saturday, RCMP were called to a residence on the Cold Lake First Nation south of the City of Cold Lake and found the 29-year-old man deceased inside the house.

The brothers have been remanded in custody and will appear in Cold Lake Provincial Court on August 24th.
