An Edmonton family is using social media to spread the word after 34-year-old William ‘Ryan' Nadeau disappeared Thursday afternoon.

His wife started a Facebook group Saturday morning, complete with pictures of her husband and a description of him and his truck.

In over 24 hours, the site grew to more than 1500 members.

She said in an interview with CTV News Sunday his absence is very unusual.

"We've been together since I was 18, thirteen years and he's never done this," Amanda Nadeau said. "He's been late but he's never not been home for four days without calling me."

Many have posted the description of Nadeau and his vehicle on their own status updates.

According to the family, he was last seen at Spruce Avenue School on 114 Avenue and 102 Street Thursday, July 14 at about 12:45 p.m.

William Nadeau is described as:

  • 5'8"
  • 220 lbs.
  • Blue eyes
  • Shaved head

The truck he was driving is described as:

  • Ford Ranger
  • Gray
  • Has a large wooden box, painted black, in the box of the truck
  • License plate NFU185

Family and friends have searched areas often frequented by Nadeau, including favourite fishing spots around the capital region.

The family asks anyone with information on William Nadeau's whereabouts to call 780-233-6724, or visit the family's Facebook page set up to help in the search.
