Five years after 20-year-old Dylan McGillis was stabbed to death on Whyte Ave., police have made an arrest and charged one man with manslaughter.

On November 19th, 2006, the 20-year-old victim was swarmed, attacked and fatally stabbed in front of dozens of onlookers, just months before the birth of his baby girl.

His family has maintained it was an unprovoked attack.

Now years later, Edmonton police have arrested and charged Cleophas (Cliff) Decoine-Zuniga with one count of manslaughter in connection to the case.

"It's very hard to describe what I'm feeling right now because we're happy that someone is hopefully going to be held accountable for taking Dylan from us," said the victim's father, Grant McGillis. "But at the same time it kind of brings everything fresh again, all the feelings of when he was killed."

But the investigation isn't over. Police say they are still trying to locate other individuals in connection with the attack on McGillis.

The person police are looking for is described as possibly being of Asian decent, approximately 5'2" – 5'5"tall, slender with dark hair.

Police are releasing an image of the individual taken from surveillance video. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 423-4567.

Decoine-Zuniga is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
