CTV News is making our own headlines today as we announce the addition of a morning show, a 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. newscast coming this fall.

In September, CTV News will expand on local news by adding a 5 p.m., and a 5:30 p.m. newscast. Then later in the fall, we will be launching our own three-and-a-half-hour morning show.

The announcement was made Tuesday by CTV's GM and Vice President Lloyd Lewis.

"It becomes very clear that CTV is committed to this community. We're here to stay, we're here to grow," said Lewis. "We're proud to be part of Canada's leading media organization and we're committed to local production and committed to local content, local news and bringing you the best entertainment in the world."

Lewis also unveiled Access -- another member of the CTV family -- will have a new name in the fall. Come September, they will be known as CTV Two.
