Edmonton police are asking for the public's help in locating a missing officer. Const. Ronnie Chiu, 46, was last seen at 8 p.m. on May 22nd while leaving work in the area of 88 Street and 51 Avenue.

Investigators say Chiu didn't show up for his shift the next day, which they say is considered extremely out of character.

"Our investigators have exhausted all avenues of investigation, so we are asking for the public's help in locating the constable and his vehicle," said Const. Jim Gurney, of the Missing Persons Unit.

He was last seen wearing a white golf shirt with horizontal blue striping, blue jeans, dark shoes, a light-coloured baseball cap and glasses.

He was driving his green 1998 GMC Sierra truck with an extended cab and a distinctive metal roll-up cover. The vehicle licence plate is SVE 078.

He is described as:

  • 6'2" tall
  • 200 pounds
  • Has no hair

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
