The family of a missing St. Albert couple says they will be renewing search efforts soon; saying they're desperate for closure.

Lyle and Marie McCann have been missing for more than nine months. The couple was last seen July 3 when they took off on a road trip to B.C. Their burned out RV was found two days later in a campsite near Edson.

Ever since that day, the McCann family has been doing ground searches near the area. The couple's SUV was also found in that location.

The couple's son says as soon as the ground dries up, RCMP and relatives will be back out doing more searches.

"We've come to accept that my parents probably met an awful fate that first weekend but we still need closure," said Bret McCann. "We need to know what happened to our parents."

A $60,000 reward for information has gone unclaimed. When the McCanns met with police last month, they were told no new information has come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or St. Albert RCMP at 780-458-7700.
