The Christmas Bureau of Edmonton is reporting it is still $300,000 short of its goal for the year.

The charity delivered nearly 73,000 hampers to people just before Christmas.

The charity needs $1.8 million to pays its grocery bills by the middle of January, but it still thousands short of the goal.

"A thirty-five dollar donation will impact a single person, traditionally a senior living alone and we've already delivered that food hamper to them. Eighty-five will ensure we can pay the bill for having delivered to a family of four," said campaign director Dianne Brown.

Donations can be made at all Edmonton fire halls, ATB Financial branches and Servus Credit Union branches.
