RCMP have ruled that the suspicious death of a 37-year-old Grande Prairie man has turned into a homicide investigation.

RCMP originally said they suspected foul play in the death of Brian Michael MacFarlane who lost his life in Grande Prairie more than a week ago.

Police responded to a 911 call on the city's south side around 11 p.m. and said the victim was transported to hospital, where he later died. The man's cause of death has not been released.

RCMP have asked for the public's help to locate a vehicle of interest in connection with the homicide.

Investigators are now looking for a vehicle, which is described as an older dark, coloured pickup truck that is a 2-door style with back seats.

The rear window on the passenger side of the truck has been replaced by a piece of plastic, and is held in place with red duct tape.

Anyone with information that could assist this investigation is asked to call the Grande Prairie RCMP Detachment at (780)830-5700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
