Telus is warning customers of a new telephone scam that uses the company's name.
Telus says its customers are answering a phone call from a 905-number to hear a recorded message, which states, "Hello, because you are a valued Telus customer you will receive 3,000 travel dollars. To accept press 1."
Customers who press 1 are connected to an individual who Telus says identifies themselves as a company representative who tries to gain personal information from the customer.
Telus now advises anyone who receives such a call should hang up.
