The owners of Blush Lounge in south Edmonton have opted to close their doors for a couple weeks after gunfire broke out there for the third time this year.

Police officers were seen picking up bullets outside the lounge Sunday morning following an apparent shooting overnight.  Police on scene would not confirm any details, but officers were seen scouring the parking lot, located at 2904 Gateway Boulevard, at about 10 a.m. Sunday.

The incident marks the third shooting outside the club this year.  The owners of Blush Lounge told the City of Edmonton's Safety Compliance Team they are closing the club for at least two weeks while they re-brand the establishment.

The safety compliance team says it has been in close contact with the owners and say they've been trying to attract new clientele.

On Feb. 27th, police were called to the on a report that shots had been fired.

They say a male ran to a parked vehicle, grabbed a gun and allegedly several shots were then fired at the club's doors. No one was injured in the incident.

The suspect from the Feb 27th incident is described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • Between 25 and 30-years-old
  • Short light brown or blonde hair
  • Wearing a grey sweater over a white shirt

The suspect left the scene in a silver Nissan Sentra and was with another male, with dark skin and a wide, tall Mohawk hair style.

On May 2, police say they were called to the same nightclub after shots were fired in the parking lot.

Following an altercation inside the club, two black males believed to be in their 20s got into a black Dodge Charger, and as the vehicle pulled away, the passenger allegedly fired several shots out the window.

No injuries were reported in the incident. At this time, police have no other suspect description to go on.
