Peter Pocklington cleared the air about his connection to a Las Vegas food company while speaking to CTV News Sunday, saying he is not the director of the company.

Pocklington says he was in talks with Le Bon Table Brand Foods but insists they "jumped the gun" and announced he was the director of the company.

The company issued a press release Thursday saying the former Edmonton Oilers owner was the new director of the food and beverage company.

"I don't want to condemn anybody, it's just that I did my due diligence and it wasn't what I was told it was, and they jumped the gun by two days," said Pocklington from California, during a phone interview with CTV News.

Pocklington is out on bail living in Palm Desert, awaiting trial for bankruptcy and fraud charges.
