Several shots were fired at a west-end car dealership Friday morning, with two people dead and another man injured.

Edmonton police were called to Great West Chrysler at 178 Street and Stony Plain Road just before 8 a.m. responding to a complaint that a man with a gun had entered the building.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found three males. Two of the males were dead, and the third male was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

"Investigators believe one of the deceased males is the suspect in the shooting," said Insp. Denis Jubinville with Edmonton police. "Several witnesses who were at the dealership at the time of the shooting have been interviewed and the investigation continues."

The injured man remains in hospital Friday afternoon.

Police have not confirmed what may have been behind the shooting, but it's believed there was a dispute between a reprimanded employee and management. Employees tell CTV News that both the victim and the gunman were employees at the dealership. Employees say Dave Burns was recently taken off the job for allegedly making racially-charged comments.

Sources tell CTV News the victim, a parts department employee, died at the hands of the gunman. He was married to a female Edmonton Police Service officer who happened to be one of the first officers on scene Friday morning at the dealership. Friends identify the victim as Garth Radons.

Corey Kruchkowski, an acquaintance of Dave Burns, says he's known the man for years. He describes Burns as a man who had his emotions in plain view. Some employees say Burns had a swastika tattooed on his arm.

"He was a very passionate person. He felt very strongly about what he believed and if you didn't follow what he felt -- he'd let you know," said Kruchkowski.

The owner of the dealership says he's still searching for answers.

"I don't know... he just snapped. I'm looking for answers myself, I don't know," said Bart Yachimec.
