Officers say when Oilers' goalie Nikolai Khabibulin was pulled over in Arizona last month, his blood alcohol content (BAC) was .164 - more than double the legal limit.

The alleged incident happened on February 8th in Scottsdale. Police report the 37-year-old was clocked driving his Ferrari at 70 m.p.h. in a 45-m.p.h zone – the equivalent of driving roughly 110 kilometres in an area with a 70-kilometre speed limit.

Beyond facing charges for driving with excessive speed, Khabibulin now faces an additional charge of Extreme D.U.I., which is automatically laid when BAC comes back at more than .15.

Khabibulin signed with the Edmonton Oilers as a multi-million-dollar free agent last summer, and has been out with a back injury for the last several months.
