UPDATE: Court documents obtained by CTV Edmonton indicate that the charge against Daniel Desilets was stayed on June 4, 2012.

A man wanted in connection to an alleged sexual assault from last summer in Edmonton has turned himself in.

Earlier in the week, Edmonton police released the man's photo in an attempt to generate tips about the man's whereabouts. And as a result, police say they received more than 20 tips from concerned citizens.

Daniel Marc Desilets, 33, of Edmonton has now been charged with one count of sexual assault.

Police say a 27-year-old Edmonton woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in her own home during a house party on July 18, 2009 by one of the party guests.

Another male in the home at the time of the party intervened during the alleged sexual assault.

Desilets has been released on a promise to appear.
