An Alberta Occupational Health and Safety investigation is underway after a man was found dead at at a Calgary construction site Saturday afternoon.

Police and EMS were called out to a northwest residential construction site in the community of Kincora around 1 p.m. Saturday after contract workers found the body.

CTV News has learned the deceased is a man in his late 20s.

Workers found him in between two homes under construction in the 100 block of Kinlea Link NW.

A spokesperson with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) says the man was installing siding for a company called E B Exteriors Incorporated when he fell from the scaffolding he was working on.

The home is being built by Genesis Homes.

The OHS spokesperson tells CTV News there is now a stop work order at the site until OHS investigators figure out what led to the man's death.

Although OHS officials say the man fell, because there were no witnesses it's unclear whether he simply slipped or whether some sort of medical condition may have triggered the fall.

An autopsy is expected early this week.

The man's name has not been released.
