A former Canada Post worker is in trouble with the law after police say he stole mail dating back as far as 1993.
John Kobitowich, 39, is now facing several charges including mail theft and possessing mail that is known to be stolen.
A joint investigation between Canada Post and police was launched in late Nov. of last year. Investigators say a large quantity of mail was recovered during the course of the investigation.
Kobitowich delivered mail on a variety of routes throughout Edmonton and St. Albert during his time with Canada Post.
The accused will appear in St. Albert court on Jan 18th. Canada Post is now in the process of notifying any customers who may have been affected by the mail theft over a 16-year span.
