A second man has been charged in connection with a drug bust where police seized 19 kilograms of ketamine after searching a northwest Edmonton home earlier in the week.

Viet Quoc Chung, 27,  is now facing trafficking and drug possession charges. Tu Thanh Nguyen was arrested on Monday and is also facing several charges in relation to the bust.

Investigators said the ketamine was found in the home, which can produce hallucinogenic side effects, and is known to be popular at raves.

The ketamine seized had the potential to create 380,000 dosages of the drug.

A small quantity of what police believe is ecstasy, along with a digital scale, packaging materials, and about $8,000 in cash was also removed from the home. Officers also found evidence of ingredients needed for a meth lab.

RCMP Edmonton's drug section said they had been investigating the home for about two months.

Chung, who was arrested in a second northwest Edmonton residence. Police found two more kilograms or 40,000 more doses of ketamine in addition to the 1380,000 doses that were seized on December 1st.
