Police say a Taser had to be used to control a violent 45-year-old man who allegedley struck an officer near Gull Lake Friday afternoon.
RCMP were called to a rural location about eight kilometres northeast of Gull Lake on a report that a man was threatening to hurt himself.
When police arrived, the man allegedley became violent and struck an officer. At that point, police say a Taser was deployed in order to gain control of the suspect.
The man was eventually taken into custody and now faces several assault charges. RCMP reported the male did not suffer any significant injuries during the incident.
The suspect's name has not been released.
