Six more students have been suspended from a central Alberta school after an alleged hazing incident occurred in late August.
This comes after the Battle River School Division originally suspended eight Central High Sedgewick Public School students last Thursday.
RCMP received at least one report that violence got out of hand at a bush party near Killam, Alta., where high school students from Sedgewick, Alta. were duct-taped and struck with make-shift paddles.
In an area students refer to as the "bridge", a party held Aug. 29 targeting about 30 Grade 10 students in a traditional hazing ritual, now has the RCMP and the school division threatening serious consequences.
School officials have recommended that the teens should face expulsion.
Dr. Larry Payne, superintendent of the Battle River School Division says once he makes a recommendation of expulsion, the final decision will be up to the board of trustees.
