The Edmonton Medical Examiner has identified the family of four killed in a murder-suicide last weekend near Smith, Alta.

Police confirmed that the body of 58-year-old Ian Jeffrey Paget was found outside on a rural property southeast of Smith.

Inside the home, Mounties discovered Paget's estranged wife 64-year-old Marjorie Joan Hanson, his 32-year-old daughter Jolene Eliuk, and nine-year-old granddaughter Misty Eliuk.

The investigation has determined that all four died from gunshot injuries with Pagets' appearing to have been self-inflicted.

Misty's father Terry Eliuk told CTV News he was separated from his daughter's mother and lived near his former in-laws home. He and his former wife shared custody of their two children. The couple also has a 12-year-old son, who was with Eliuk when the incident happened.

Terry Eliuk said Ian Paget and Marjorie Hanson were dealing with mounting financial and personal problems.
