Josh Classen

CTV Edmonton's chief meteorologist Josh Classen joined the station in the summer of 2003.

Josh grew up in Lloydminster and graduated from NAIT's Radio and Television Arts program. After spending nearly eight years at television stations in Lloydminster, Saskatoon and Toronto, Josh jumped at the opportunity to return to Edmonton and join CTV. He's a graduate of the Meteorology program at Mississippi State University and a member of the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.

When he's not forecasting and delivering Edmonton's most trusted weather outlook, Josh is busy in our community. He supports numerous local charities and his "Hats for the Homeless" campaign has delivered warm clothing to thousands of Edmonton's less-fortunate over the past few years.

Josh also had the privilege of traveling with World Vision to Nicaragua in 2007 and was a key part of the organization's successful campaign that saw nearly four thousand of the world's poorest children sponsored by Albertans.

Josh is also busy grooming the forecasters of the future with his "Weather Watchers" program. Every year, Josh visits nearly 100 Edmonton and area Grade 5 classes and teaches them about the weather.

Josh is the proud recipient of several community service awards and was named Best TV Weatherperson by SEE magazine in their 2007 & 2008 Best of Edmonton awards.
